CLEAR THE HAZE

Released in summer of 2026 and created in collaboration with StopHazing, this dynamic online learning experience empowers participants to recognize hazing, intervene when it matters, and help build healthier, more inclusive group cultures. Through Catharsis’ approach to using engaging storytelling, interactive learning, and research-informed content, learners gain practical skills they can apply to create safer, more connected communities.

Learner outcomes include:

Recognizing hazing and its impacts
Building and strengthening skills to be an active bystander
Fostering awareness to create healthy group dynamics
Understanding policy about hazing and how to report

Student focus groups generated an 8.8 out of 10 average score to the question “How likely are you to recommend the training workshop/course to others?”

STANDUP TO HAZING

In just 20 minutes, participants gain practical tools to recognize warning signs of hazing, take effective action, and create healthy group cultures. This comprehensive training equips students, staff, and faculty with research-backed strategies that drive real change.

This training, originally designed by StopHazing, was visually modified for Catharsis clients. StandUp to Hazing™ represents the evolution of decades of research into an actionable, scalable solution for campuses. The training also has extensive evaluation data showing its impact on those who complete the program.

Learning outcomes include:

Identify elements that comprise hazing
Recognize warning signs
Learn how to take effective action
Understand how to create healthy group cultures

Implementation: SSO, Completion tracking and campus information

Learners access the program via a SSO (single-sign-on) link, so all students will use one link
Learner completion tracking can be provided with multiple methods, including hourly
We will make your campus information, policies, resources, etc. accessible within the program
We can incorporate a campus-supplied video as an introduction to the program to provide additional campus-personalization

About StopHazing

Established in 1998, StopHazing is the only research-to-practice hazing prevention organization taking a campus-wide and public health approach to prevention. It is an experienced and collaborative team conducting pathbreaking hazing prevention research and resource development that has shaped the field. StopHazing provided subject matter expertise to Congress in support of the Federal Anti-Hazing Law, the Stop Campus Hazing Act. As an equity-minded organization, StopHazing’s mission is to promote safe and inclusive school, campus, and organizational environments through research, resource sharing, and the development of data-driven strategies for hazing prevention and the promotion of positive and inclusive group climates.
